Children's Programs - Integrated preschool/childcare

The integrated preschool and child care programs provide exciting and challenging learning environments for children aged 3 to 5 years and allow flexibility for families. Thebarton CampusThe focus in these programs includes the development of a positive self concept within an environment where children learn to care for each other and their surroundings. There is a rich arts program, and a strong focus on learning through play. The curriculum is relationship-based and incorporates the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) which includes Principles, Practices and Outcomes within the view of Belonging, Being and Becoming.

The Gowrie Thebarton site is able to provide various combinations of child care and Department of Education and Children's Services (DECS) subsidised Kindergarten/Preschool sessions.

Children belong to primary care groups in which the focus is on developing a sense of security within the environment to enable each child to confidently access the learning experiences in the program.  Each child has their own portfolio containing learning stories that capture their learning and planning opportunities and to which parents are encouraged to contribute to with stories from home.  As with all children, the value of children learning by doing and through their interests contributes to a skillfully guided program, run by qualified preschool teachers and child care staff.

A sense of community and family networks are developed through a number of family events and opportunities to discuss goals for your child, which are organised throughout the year.
